Praia Group on Governance Statistics in the 55th Session of UNSC
The 55th session of the UN Statistical Commission (27th February to 1st March 2024) begins tomorrow. The Praia Group on Governance Statistics will present its Report, that will be for discussion and decision on agenda item 3(e) – Governance, on Tuesday afternoon, February 27, 2024, from 4.45 to 5.30 p.m., NY time. In the present report, the Praia Group provides a summary of its recent activities and accomplishments since its last report in 2022, with a particular focus on the methodological work carried out by the Task Teams on Non-discrimination and equality, and on Participation in political and public affairs. The Group also sets out priority areas of work for the remaining two years before the end of its mandate, in 2025, and outlines a proposed future direction of work in the field of governance statistics beyond 2025.
